Kapusod is located in Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas, on the shore of Taal Lake. The drive from Metro Manila — specifically from Makati — is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours via the STAR Tollway, depending on traffic conditions. It is close enough to visit on a day trip and far enough to feel genuinely away.
Yes. The natural pool at Kapusod is filtered entirely through biological and physical systems — gravel, mesh, and living plants — with zero chemical additives. Children swim in it regularly. The pool has matured into a stable ecosystem and the water is clean and clear. Please supervise younger children as you would in any swimming environment.
Yes, day use visits are available at Kapusod. Day visitors have access to the gardens, the natural swimming pool, and the lakeside areas, and can dine on Batangas cuisine during their visit. Please send an inquiry or message us on Facebook to arrange a day visit and confirm availability.
Kapusod offers four distinct overnight accommodation options: The Treehouse (bamboo canopied structure among the trees), The Karakoa (two-bedroom earthen house named after the ancient Philippine sailing vessel), The Cabana (open-air cogon-thatched lakeside shelter), and The Dome (geodesic dome with lake views). Each structure has its own character and relationship with the surrounding landscape. For availability and details on each, please send an inquiry.
Yes. Kapusod's lakeside setting, ecological architecture, and garden grounds make it a memorable venue for intimate private events — including weddings held on the lakeshore, anniversary celebrations, and private gatherings. The dap-ay gathering space is particularly suited to evening events. Please reach out with your event details and we will discuss what is possible.
Yes. Kapusod serves authentic Batangas cuisine, including tawilis (the freshwater sardine native to Taal Lake) prepared with a distinctive twist, traditional garlic bangus breakfast, freshly made suman, local halo-halo, and seasonal desserts. Meals are served in the open air — at the outdoor dining area — with Taal Lake as the backdrop. Dining arrangements can be included in your inquiry.
Kapusod has hosted a range of cultural and wellness programs including Baybayin script seminars, ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement) sessions, pilates by the lake, and educational field trips. These are organized periodically — follow @kapusodph on Instagram and the Kapusod Facebook page for announcements. Group inquiries for private cultural sessions are also welcome.
Kapusod is open year-round and is beautiful in every season. The dry months from November through April typically offer the clearest skies and the most consistent conditions for outdoor activities and swimming. The rainy season (June through October) brings its own particular beauty — lush green gardens, dramatic skies over Taal Lake, and a cooler temperature that makes the retreat feel even more private and serene. Kapusod remains open through most weather events and is regularly described as beautiful even on grey days.
